Our Identity: The Mamela Magoda Luthuli Foundation, now Mamela Oaktree Foundation, is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) in South Africa, established to empower underserved communities by addressing critical skills development, comprehensive training, SMME development, and access to funding and broader socio-economic upliftment.
Purpose: To cultivate a digitally literate and economically empowered society, awakening the “entrepreneurial spirit” and creating financial inclusion.
Mission: The mission of the Mamela Oaktree Foundation is to foster a digitally literate and economically empowered society on both African and global scales, through targeted training, innovative mentorship programs, and comprehensive SMME development. We aim to drive sustainable growth, create opportunities, and empower individuals and communities to thrive in an interconnected world.
Leadership
Mamela Magoda Luthuli – Founder and Director, and CEO of Take Note IT. A distinguished leader with an MBA from Henley International Business School and certifications from Harvard in Cybersecurity, among others. Mamela is a successful serial entrepreneur who has created impact for women, youth, and job creation, shifting the narrative for women in business and women in tech.
Vannie Pillay – Director and CEO of Oaktree People Solutions. A Business and People Strategist with an MBA from Henley International Business School, Honours in Industrial Psychology, amongst others. Vannie has a track record in C-suite Executive roles and has created an impact in the SME sector, growing entrepreneurs and their businesses, impacting the growth of the businesses, and job creation.
